Civil Servant, 30, docked over alleged cheating:- Kano – A 30-year-old Civil Servant, Muhammad Kurna, was on Friday brought before a Kano Magistrates’ Court over alleged cheating.
Muhammad, who resides at Babban Layi Kurna Quarters, Kano, is being tried for criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Yusuf Sale, told the court that one Jamila Sharif of the same address reported the case at the Kano Metro Area Police Command on July 24.
Sale said that sometime in January, the complainant entrusted Muhammad with one bale of Galila Shadda valued at N645, 000.
He said the accused was to transport the Shadda from Kano to Saudi Arabia and hand it over to one Hamisu Angwaye, but he dishonestly converted the whole goods to his own personal use.
The prosecutor said offence contravened Sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code Law.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge, when it was read out to him.
The Senior Magistrate, Aminu Fagge, ordered the remand of the accused in prison and adjourned the case till Aug. 10, for mention. (NAN)
